In this example, I restored a 14k wedding set without the use of a torch or solder. With the help of Rosie, my laser welder, I applied 19k white gold to each prong without disturbing the diamonds or the design elements. The top photo shows a close-up of the engagement ring's center stone. The prongs were so worn that the stone was ready to fall out. The prongs on the other stones were similarly worn. In the repair shown, the new sterling silver loop was welded on using sterling silver laser wire. The resulting joint is strong and matches the rest of the piece. The best part is that the pendant remained cool enough to hold in my hands, thus preserving its delicate nature. In this example, I restored a 14k wedding set without the use of a torch or solder. With the help of Rosie, my laser welder, I applied 19k white gold to each prong without disturbing the diamonds or the design elements. The top photo shows a close-up of the engagement ring's center stone. The prongs were so worn that the stone was ready to fall out. The prongs on the other stones were similarly worn. In the repair shown, the new sterling silver loop was welded on using sterling silver laser wire. The resulting joint is strong and matches the rest of the piece. The best part is that the pendant remained cool enough to hold in my hands, thus preserving its delicate nature.
