Mother's Ring Repair
This mother's ring was loved for many years until prong failure caused the loss of a stone.
Since the remaining stones were very worn, the client decided that she'd like to replace all of the stones at the time of the prong restoration.
16 prongs and 4 new stones later, this piece is ready to be loved for many more years!

Bridal Remount
Sometimes, I only need to replace the setting for a single stone. Other times, it makes sense to put all of the stones into a new mounting.
In this photo, the new mounting is a commercially available piece. Using commercially available parts and mountings is a great way to save money when compared to custom work.

Channel Restoration
This ring was loved for many years before excessive wear caused one of the diamonds to fall out. After I replaced 6 of the channel strips and the stone, this piece is ready to be worn for many years to come!

Antique Bridal Restoration
Our most treasured jewelry should be repaired in such a way that both strength and beauty are maintained. In this example, I restored a 14k wedding set without the use of a torch or solder. With the help of Rosie, my laser welder, I applied 19k white gold to each prong without disturbing the diamonds or the design elements.
The top photo shows a close-up of the engagement ring's center stone. The prongs were so worn that the stone was ready to fall out. The prongs on the other stones were similarly worn. The bottom photo shows the completed restoration.

Keeping it Cool
Replacing the loop on top of a pendant is a common repair that can be complicated by delicate color inlays, patinas and fragile stones.
In the repair shown, the new sterling silver loop was welded on using sterling silver laser wire. The resulting joint is strong and matches the rest of the piece. The best part is that the pendant remained cool enough to hold in my hands, thus preserving its delicate nature.

From Ring to Pendant
In this case, the client decided they would wear this piece more if it were a pendant instead of a ring. I used a portion of the grooved ring shank to create the bail.

Can't Take the Heat
Sometimes we want to combine pieces of jewelry that are already set with stones. Traditional torch-soldering frequently requires that heat-sensitive stones are removed before the pieces can be safely assembled. Laser welding was the perfect solution for this job!

Electroplating
Do you desire a brighter finish on your white gold jewelry? Need to repair the finish on custom jewelry? Perhaps you wish to turn a yellow piece white (or a white piece yellow) for a time. My electroplating process includes a palladium pre-plate to help the final plating of rhodium or 18k yellow gold adhere evenly.

Drill It!
Often stones and pearls need to be drilled so that they can be mounted. In this example, I drilled the fossilized palm cabochon, installed a sterling silver rivet into the new hole and added a simple jump ring for a bail.

1/2 Sapphire Remount
This is another situation in which I was able to use commercially produced parts to create a customized piece without the cost of full custom work.
